906 Foundation

906 Foundation builds trust and unity between law enforcement and the community through education, outreach, and compassionate giving to those we serve.

About Us

The 906 Foundation takes its name from the Phoenix Police radio code “906”, which means an officer needs assistance immediately. We step in when others hesitate, partnering with local organizations, investing in programs that deliver real results. Our purpose is simple and relentless: empowering youth, assisting families, supporting public safety, and answering the call whenever our community needs us most. Proudly standing with the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving others. The 906 Foundation answers the call whenever help is needed and stays until the job is done.

Our work is grounded in partnership with trusted local organizations and guided by a simple principle: show up when it matters.

The 906 Foundation is committed to supporting the following areas:

Back the Blue Officer Support – provides financial assistance to public safety personnel across the State of Arizona who are injured or killed in the line of duty, as well as to public safety professionals and their families during times of need.

Phoenix Police Cadet Scholarship Program – Phoenix Police Cadets are selected annually to receive this scholarship, which assists with college tuition and emphasizes community engagement and volunteer service. The program goal is to assist the Cadet’s in obtaining a higher education and fulfilling a lifetime accomplishment of being a Police Officer.

Shop with a Cop – The 906 Foundation, Phoenix Police Officers and Arizona Probation Officers Association partner with approximately 250 low-income, at-risk youth for a fun filled day of activities and shopping while building and fostering positive relationships with law enforcement. These children are provided gift cards to go on a shopping spree at a local store with the officers. After the event is done, the officers will bring the children home with the wrapped gifts to their families. This is the largest Shop with a Cop event in the State of Arizona. This event builds relationships between youth in our community and the Police Officers that patrol in those areas.

Back to School/Stuff the Bus – The 906 Foundation selects a Title 1 school in the Phoenix area that has been nominated by a School Resource Officer. The 906 Foundation and Phoenix Police Officers handout these backpacks directly to the students. We partner with CW7 to Stuff the Bus with these backpacks and school supplies to be delivered to multiple schools. In 2025 we stuffed over 5,000 backpacks.

Community Support

We provide assistance to many area non-profits, foundations, and community events.

A few of our highlights from 2025:

Wake Up Club Program – Approximately 50 youth each year are introduced to the Phoenix Police Department through hands-on experiences, including facility tours, ride-along demonstrations, and specialized unit showcases, all designed to strengthen community-police relationships during the summer months. The program focuses on team building and introducing youth to the understanding of the police department and it’s role.

Tour de Force – A long-distance bicycle ride 280 miles ending at ground zero in New York City, NY. Our officers will participate in riding to honor our fallen. We support this charity who helps provide funding to families of officers killed in the line of duty across the United States.

Ryan House Community Breakfast – We have supported this nonprofit for several years in its mission to provide pediatric hospice and palliative care to families in the Valley, offering critical support to children with life-limiting conditions, many of whom require ongoing care and never return home. Ryan House focuses on making comfortable arrangements for the child and their family during these difficult times.

Slopefest – Our long-standing participation in this community event where we distribute free items to children and residents, providing a pallet of water for attendees in the Sunnyslope neighborhood area, and fostering positive interactions that help break down barriers and strengthen trust between the community and law enforcement. This event is organized by the Sunnyslope Neighborhood Association with cooperation with the Phoenix Police Department, and local businesses.

Superhero 5K – We help raise awareness and funding for Family Advocacy Centers across the Valley, supporting the purchase of critical supplies used in police investigations, domestic violence cases, and services for children who are victims of serious crimes; the charity was founded by one of our police detectives after witnessing the lack of funding available during child investigations and funding to assist the child victims. We have been the title sponsor of this event since the inception in 2015.

Make a donation today to help us provide financial assistance to officers and their families and to give back to the communities that support them.

All proceeds go directly to our numerous programs and initiatives, such as Tuition Assistance for Police Survivors (TAPS),  Phoenix Police Cadet Scholarship, Back to School, Shop With a Cop, and more.

Since its inception in 2007, the 906 Foundation has donated approximately $3.4 million dollars to make a difference for law enforcement officers, their families and our community. This video tells the unforgettable

The 906 Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization supporting the officers of the Phoenix Police Department and our Phoenix Communities.
